EMDESK has released the new "Group and Mailing lists" features that allows to set-up mailing lists and to assort project users to a group within a few minutes. Each group receives a unique email address for mailing outside from EMDESK from your personel mailing software.

The EMDESK team is already working on up-comming features e.g. the project wiki and the project website generator.

EMDESK has established the LinkedIn group "EMDESK FP7 Proposal Writing and Project Management" dedicated to establish a network of people who are interested in exchanging knowledge and ideas on efficient proposal writing and project management in FP7.

The group shall strengthen the cooperation between experienced EMDESK project managers and new users. Another main focus is the gathering and identification of key issues and best practices in proposal preparation and management methodologies for adapting our platform to users’ needs.

The EMDESK team would like to annouce the recently launched EMDESK 1.6 - the most advanced proposal writing and project management platform for the European Union’s 7th Research Framework Programme.

As a result of the considerable amount of valuable user feedback, the EMDESK team has developed its platform to make proposal writing and project management even more efficient. With new and upgraded features, EMDESK introduces significant performance and usability enhancements.

Significant Performance Enhancements: The EMDESK server has been relocated to a more powerful server, its database has been optimised and the response-time is now 10 times shorter.

The EMDESK team is already working on the EMDESK 1.7 which will provide a project wiki, a project website generator as well as a group and mail distribution system.

The EC has published a new template for structuring the Annex I (Description of Work). Whereas the contents remain unchanged, but there are structural rearrangements.

The Part A consists of a new cover page, the project summary, the list of participants, the budget breakdown and a new section that contains work plan tables. Therefore, a new function in NEF (Negotiation Form Facility) is available for entering the project structure in web forms once.

The Part B consists of the narrative part, which needs to be prepared in accordance with the rules and structure of the Negotiation Guidance and uploaded as PDF to the NEF account.

EMDESK generates automatically the Part A and the Part B of the Annex I to the Grant Agreement (Description of Work) that are required for Negotiations and Amendments in the accepted and official formatting for upload to NEF.

The export of the DOW in accordance with former template is still available.

The Fraunhofer Gesellschaft, Germany, signed Framework Contract with EMDESK® on August, 20, 2009

Today the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft has signed a Framework Contract with EMDESK®. Under this agreement, all 57 Fraunhofer Institutions will be able to take advantage of the EMDESK® Proposal Writing and Project Management Platform for the creation of proposals, the negotiation stage as well as the implementation and management of research projects in the European Union 7th Framework Programme.

EMDESK® will support the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft in its capacity as coordinator to manage its project data, write proposals, collaborate and comply with the requirements and administrative obligations of the 7th Framework Programme efficiently.

The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft (FhG) was founded in 1949 and is the leading organisation for applied research in Europe with a staff of some 15,000, predominantly qualified scientists and engineers and an annual research budget of around €1.4 billion. The majority of the activities are contracted research including numerous FP7 research projects.
