A Fresh Look at EMDESK

Introducing Our New Interface

Stefan Detschew | Apr 23. 2025

We are pleased to introduce the newly refreshed EMDESK interface — designed to offer a clearer, more modern user experience without changing any of the core functionality or navigation our users rely on.

This update brings a visual improvement to EMDESK, making the interface lighter, more structured, and easier to work with — especially during long project planning and reporting sessions.

While the design has evolved, the way you work within EMDESK remains entirely unchanged.

Familiar workflows, improved clarity

The engine behind EMDESK remains as robust as ever — and the same applies to the structure of the platform. Navigation, workflows, and functionality are exactly where you expect them to be.

What’s changed is the look and feel: a more refined layout, an updated visual language, and an overall clearer presentation of complex project data.

Highlights of the new interface

🧭 Consistent structure
All menus and navigation elements are still in place, ensuring a seamless transition. There is no need to adapt or re-learn anything.

🎨 Modern visual language
We’ve introduced a cleaner aesthetic with lighter layouts, clearer fonts, and improved spacing for greater focus and readability.

🔁 Unified controls
The version and reporting controls have been consolidated in the top right, improving visual clarity and freeing up workspace.

📁 Refined workspace switching
The interface now offers a smoother experience when switching between workspaces or project modules — while maintaining full functionality.

Key Interface Changes to Be Aware Of

While the overall layout and workflows remain the same, a few specific interface elements have been adjusted or repositioned to improve clarity and usability. Here’s a quick overview of these changes:

1. In-app tabs have moved to the top banner

You’ll now find your custom in-app relocated to the blue header bar at the top of the screen. This change streamlines navigation and brings the structure in line with modern UI standards.

2. Version and Reporting controls are now unified

Previously located in the grey bar below the profile menu, the Version and Reporting Control panels have been consolidated in the top right corner into the blue header bar left from the profile menu. This simplifies access to essential controls while saving space.

3. Workspace switching

To change workspaces, simply click the arrow next to the workspace name/logo at the top left. A dropdown will show all available workspaces.

4. Table filters are still just below the header but hidden

You can now access column filters by hovering just below the table header row. This minimalist approach keeps the view clean while giving you access to powerful filtering options when needed. Also active filters are highlighted in orange for better visibility
