We are pleased to introduce a completely redesigned Dashboard for EMDESK, a modern command center that brings your most important project information together in one view.
Managing EU-funded research projects means juggling budgets, timelines, deliverables, and team coordination simultaneously. Until now, checking on these different aspects required navigating to separate areas within EMDESK. The new Dashboard changes this by presenting key metrics, upcoming events, and recent activity all in one place.
What's new
The redesigned Dashboard introduces several widgets that give you immediate insight into your project's status:
🚀 Quick Actions
A new menu at the top of the Dashboard lets you start common tasks instantly, report a status update, track time, create a task, start a meeting, or add budget entries. No more navigating through multiple screens to get things done.
📊 Monthly Budget vs. Expenses
A visual chart comparing your planned budget against actual expenses month by month. At the top of the Dashboard, this chart shows figures across all projects in your workspace. You can filter by cost category to focus on specific areas.
📈 Personnel Expenditure
Track your resource consumption over the project timeline. Like the budget chart, the top-level view shows expenditure across all projects, helping you identify potential overruns early.
📅 Milestones Timeline
All your milestones displayed on an interactive timeline. Milestones are color-coded by status, making it easy to spot what's on track and what needs attention.
🔍 Recent Activities, What's Next & Overdue
Three tabbed views let you switch between recent changes in your project, upcoming items that need attention, and overdue tasks requiring immediate action.
⭐ Starred Items & Conversations
Your favorites are displayed at the top for quick access, and a conversations widget keeps you connected to team discussions without leaving the Dashboard.
Multi-project workspaces
For workspaces containing multiple projects, a new Project Overview section provides tabbed navigation. Each project tab displays its own budget and expenditure charts, showing project-specific figures. This means you can view consolidated metrics at the top of the Dashboard, then drill down into individual project performance.
