Webinar: H2020 periodic reports

The webinar focuses on the questions of how to master the administrative and financial management rules of EU funded projects under Horizon 2020 (H2020). How to improve the quality of periodic reports? How to develop financial and administrative monitoring tools for a Horizon 2020 contract? How to optimize the balance-payment amount and be ready for audits?

Jeanne explains and describes all the rules of periodic reports in Horizon 2020. Like that the reporting period of a project starts with its first day. The reporting schedule and deadlines are defined per each project, but usually the periods are every 12 or 18 months, depending on the type of action. Those dates for the submission are established in the grant agreement with the EC.

In EU funded projects under Horizon 2020 you have 60 days following the end of a reporting period to submit the periodic reports. At the end of the last reporting period you have again 60 days to submit the final reports. Here as Jeanne outlines it’s important not to forget to budget the HR costs.

As you can see, basically there are two types of reports periodic reports and final reports. All reports include a technical report, which is the “narrative” or “scientific” part covering the progress of the project towards objects, and the financial report that provides a budget vs. costs status update. During the webinar Jeanne gives detailed advice on the structure and content required of each section of periodic reports and how to prepare it efficiently. There is also guidance on interim reporting, the submission process, contractual obligations and supporting documents, and the certification of the financial statement.

Jeanne shares some experts insights into best practices and tips on managing the periodic reports in Horizon 2020 efficiently. She not only recommends to include internal follow-up templates and conduct pre-analysis of cost eligibility in EU funded projects, but also to establish an efficient collaboration between scientists and administrators using project management workflows and tools like EMDESK.
