Recorded Webinar: From Horizon 2020 to Horizon Europe – strengthening of widening measures and the challenges for RMA
Excellence is present in all European countries, however its visibility in new member states is significantly lower. Despite serious efforts by the European Union and the Member States as well as the inclusion of the “Widening package” in Horizon 2020, significant gaps remain among European regions in terms of research and innovation performance. This is due to different factors, including stiff regulations on participation (e.g. remuneration rules), poorer visibility of EU-13 excellence, “old boys clubs” reflected in closed cooperation patterns or ‘brain drain’ effect. Therefore, we appreciate current efforts to support wider participation in Horizon Europe.
This recorded webinar (28 April, 2020) discusses a new shape of the widening measures foreseen in Horizon Europe, including continuation of the significantly strengthen “Widening package” and new horizontal instruments (f.e. new ex-aequo selection criterion based on geographical diversity, hop-on scheme). The selected Teaming projects as well as example of successful implementation of the widening selection criterion in ERA-Net Quantera project, will be presented. Moreover, we will focus on outcomes of the NCP-WIDE.NET project and challenges in professional management of Centres of excellence as well as conditions conducive to developing the highest quality standards in research and innovation excellence.
This webinar is presented by EMDESK in cooperation with EARMA (European Association of Research Managers and Administrators) with Zygmunt Krasiński (Polish Academy of Sciences) and Katarzyna Walczyk-Matuszyk (Polish Academy of Sciences) as speakers.
